Outfit: Pink Leather & Primark Bargains

IMG_2610
Just because the weather is getting darker, and greyer, doesn't mean we have to follow suit with our wardrobes too. I love injecting colour into my Winter outfits, even if it's just the addition of a coloured jacket or boots. This leather jacket is a Primark bargain at just £25, and I love the way the bright pink looks, contrasted with the navy blue ankle boots.

I love the way the shorts tie the jacket and the boots together, nicely. I think these shorts are a Wintery floral pattern, if that can be a thing... Is it a thing? It definitely should be!

I wore this outfit to a family meal, for my Grandfather's birthday. I won't publish how old he is on the internet, all you need to know is that he is still a finely tuned athlete. Unfortunately, this outfit was the first time I cracked out my Primark 'Super Cosy' tights for the Winter. They are so warm and soft, but I am mourning the loss of Summer warmth. Cry.

Review: Thrive Causemetics Robin False Lashes

Over a year ago, founder of Thrive Causemetics, Karissa Bodnar lost her friend to cancer. She wanted to create something wonderful which would help other women going through the same thing, in memory of her friend. Thrive Causemetics was born. They are false lashes, designed to sit beautifully on the eyelids regardless of whether you have natural eyelashes for a base or not. To go one further, Thrive Causemetics promise that for every pair of lashes bought, one pair will be donated to a woman going through cancer treatments.
Above, you can see me wearing the Robin lashes, which are the most voluminous lashes on offer. They also have two more natural versions. I wore these lashes to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 premiere and I felt a million dollars in them. They stayed put all night with the Thrive Causemetics lash glue and felt comfortable. They were easy to apply, especially on their first application, which is always the trickiest.

I love the idea that my penchant for beauty is adding a little bit of light to someone elses life, even if it is just a beauty pick me up. You can check out Thrive Causemetics here.

I was sent my lashes for review purposes c/o Thrive Causemetics.

Event: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, World Premiere

IMG_2606
A few weeks ago, I was invited to attend the world premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Now I've sat down to write this post, I'm overwhelmed and a bit emotional, that it is me, Amy who is writing this post about her experience on the red carpet. After a bad couple of years and a lifetime of no self belief, I'm in awe that I somehow found myself on this path, and I'm happy to say, it's only the beginning.

The whole night was perfect. I got ready with my Granny at home, which meant face mask, nails painted (in OPI's 'You're Such a Budapest') and hair curled. We took some outfit photographs in the garden before I headed into central London. I felt out of place, dressed to the nines on the tube, but a little girl asked if I was a princess, which melted my heart. As soon as I had my ticket in my hand (in a golden envelope) it felt real. Nerves, confusion and excitement came over me like a wave.

The next 30 minutes went by in a blur. From that first, tentative step on the red carpet, to the screams, the fans, the stars dotted up and down the carpet like a fine misting of icing sugar on a proverbial cupcake. We were ushered to have our photos taken where hundreds of paps screamed for our attention to look down their lens. The flashes were blinding and I barely had a minute to worry 'is my hair okay?' 'Do I pout or do I smile?' Before I was walking again, down the carpet towards the cinema.

Once I was inside the theatre, safely installed in my seat, I had a couple of minutes to collect myself. My name is Amy, I am at a premiere. My name is Amy, this is really happening. My name is Amy, I'm so lucky. I managed to grab a few words with Louise, of Sprinkle of Glitter, Carrie Hope Fletcher and some of the Xfactor boys, which was nice.

The film itself was a triumph, very dark, incredible moving and the actors/actresses in it did a fantastic job. I highly recommend the film to everyone!

Finally, I'd like to extend a thank you to everyone who has helped get me where I am today. Being invited was a privilege and an honour and I want you to know how grateful I am. Thank you, so much.

Outfit: Party Season Co-Ords

IMG_2539
Well, its November, which means the Christmas party season is fast approaching. There is nothing I love more than Christmas, and the Christmas parties the season brings are a perfect side dish to your roast turkey. This means fur, sparkle, blacks, slivers, golds and reds are all out in full force. Get your glad rags and your dancing shoes on ladies, its time for mulled wine and Buble's Christmas album.

Co-Ord: *Chiara Fashion
Coat: Vintage (borrowed from Rosie)
Shoes: *Glamorous
Necklace: H&M
I love this co-ord, it can look great with or without tights, depending on the weather! It can also be styled with ankle boots and a cardigan for a more day appropriate look. This co-ord is purchased as a set for a super purse friendly price, which makes it much cheaper than other co-ords where you have to purchase the two parts separately. It comes in white or black, but I chose the black for a more Winter feel.

As a side note, what do we think of my new hair? I added a more red dye to the top, for a stronger ombre effect. Thanks to my Dad for doing it for me!

Outfit: Poppies & Shift Dresses

IMG_2529
This past Wednesday, I hoped on a train to visit my family and head into central London to view the Remembrance Day poppies, circling The Tower of London. One ceramic poppy for every British soldier, killed in WW1, has been planted in the surrounding moat. Its a beautiful site to behold, and the sheer number of poppies, really grounds you and takes your breath away. I visited with my Sister and Grandparents, and I managed to convince my sister to take some outfit photos for me. Here is what I wore.

These boots are my new favourite things, I wear them everywhere and they give me so much confidence. I definitely strut in them, and I definitely don't care! They are the perfect Autumn/Winter companion, teaming warmth and comfort whilst also staying bang on trend. I've seen similar boots all over the high street, from Topshop to New Look, although I found these Next, suede ones to be the best value for money.
