December Advertisers Call

Hello everyone, I haven't asked if anyone wants to advertise on my blog in ages, but I really think I need to start again. When my blog was a lot smaller, I paid a small monthly fee to have my blog advertised on other blogs. It really helped kick start everything and I feel like I owe this chance to other bloggers.

So I have three levels of package available to you:

The Disposable Package £5:
For five pounds for a month you can receive an advertising space on the right hand side of my blog. The advert will go live as soon as payment is received and stay there for an entire month. You will also receive a link in a 'sponsors' post at the end of the month.

The Polaroid Package £8:
For £8 a month you will receive an advert space for the month, a #FF on twitter for a month of Fridays and a blog post, linking to your blog in my 'Sponsors' post at the end of the month.

The DSLR Package £10:
For ten pounds a month you will receive an advert space for the month, a #FF on twitter for a month of Fridays and a blog post, linking to your blog in my 'Sponsors' post at the end of the month. You will also gain a link in the description box of five consecutive youtube videos I post on my youtube channel.

All transactions will be completed via paypal. If you would like an ad slot, comment below the package you would like and your paypal email. I will invoice you and once you have paid your advert will go live immediately.

When you're around me, I'm radioactive

I was ill last week and its really messed up my body clock, I'm all over the place. To highlight this point: these photographs were taken at 7.30 am, minutes after the sun had fully risen (I watched it, and waited for it). Seeing as I was up so early, I decided to straighten my hair for the first time in yonks! I was somewhat saddened to find, when straight it wasn't as 'Rapunzel' as I'd hoped. But its getting there...? *Wills hair to grow.*

Shirt: H&M
Skirt: New Look
Necklace: H&M
Shoes: Topshop
Rings: Accessorize, antique, Pandora
Watch: Radley
Nails: Topshop's Green Room

I love this skirt, but its one I have to be ever so careful to wear on days when I won't be consuming: fatty foots, large meals or alcohol as even the tiniest bit of bloating is magnified times a bazillion (thats a word now). It also gives me a mahoosive bootay.... so the question has to be: 'is my bum TOO big in this?' Please answer honestly in the comments below.

Channel Updates

Hi guys, sometimes I just like sitting in front of the camera and talking to my A team. Its a great excuse to get all snuggled up on my bed, with a cuppa. Oh the life of a youtuber. I wanted to share this VLOG style video with you as it contains some bits and bobs I think you may enjoy.

If you want a shoutout for you blog (I didn't include blogs in the video, but I will shout out blogs too!) Leave a video response in which you shout out my channel, or write a blog post (and link me to it below) where you shout out my youtube channel and I will return the favour in a video. The idea is we can all get to know each other, each others subbies and followers can get to know each other and we can become a giant youtube/blogging family. Isn't that nice?

Who ya gonna call?

Alright my lovers?! I'm back home for the weekend (yay!) so here you have it, my stereotypical 'posing in front of my garden fence, with ivy and trees' outfit of the day. I'm really happy to be home- I was coming down with some sort of tonsil problem (I suffer a lot with my tonsils) so its great to be able to be looked after. Hot ribeana is practically on tap! I spent most of Friday night curled up with my Mum on the sofa watching Children In Need- a great cause and I was impressed by the acts and brought to tears by the stories. Below is today's outfit- I'm seeing Jimbo and some other homeland homies this evening and its going to be great! Tainted by tonsil pain or not...

Tee: Tescos
Skirt: H&M
Jacket: Primark
Converse: Office
Necklace: Gift
Snood: New Look

I hope you are all having relaxing weekends, too. I'll speak to you guys really soon- I have exciting news I can't wait to release!

Bach

This post is going to be more lifestyle related than my other beauty/fashion posts, but I really wanted to show you some photographs I took of my friend getting her first tattoo! Rosie was nervous about getting it, so Amy and I (yep, another Amy!) offered to be on hand holding duty. We went to a reputable Tattoo studio in Brighton and I absolutely loved the classy, arty decor inside- I felt like I'd stepped into a hip interiors magazine.

Of course I couldn't pass up the chance at taking some "arty" snaps of the process:

Above is the finished tattoo, moments after completion. Doesn't it look incredible? It was done by one of Brighton's top calligraphic tattoo artists, as Rosie wanted it done in her Dad's handwriting (it is a quote of his). The finished design is so lovely and personal. Its something she will never regret.

To celebrate, the three of us went to Starbucks for our first red cup of the season! Rosie was a little bit sore, but said the pain was bearable  a lot better than she'd expected.
Above is me with my eggnog latte and Rosie with her Gingerbread latte.
Here is Amy with her intense 'first Christmas starbucks' look on, enjoying her gingerbread latte.

I hope you enjoyed this post, seeing a bit of my day to day life (not that I often frequent tattoo parlours- I'm so not that cool!).

Fake MAC Products

Ladies and gentlefolk, I don't claim to be a makeup expert, by any account. However, I would like to testify that I know a fair amount. Especially when it comes to fakes. I had a bad experience upon first entering the world of makeup. I purchased a MAC lipstick from an Ebay seller (who has since been shut down). Rookie error, I know. However at the time I thought- A MAC LIPSTICK FOR ONLY £8?! Too good to be true. Upon receiving the lipstick, the chemically smell and sticky consistency had alarm bells ringing in my head. Yes, I had bought a fake. A bad fake too, but it shook me up.

After this experience I meticulously checked every makeup product I purchased that weren't from a legitimate shop, in a shopping center. I was a woman possessed. I thought, with my new found knowledge of all the fake tricks (differing packaging, wrong shade names, missing shade names all together, etc etc...) I wouldn't be a victim again.

Oh how I was wrong.

Left: Real MAC Eyeshadow, Right: fake
Months and months ago, I purchased MAC's Idol Eyes eyeshadow from CheapSmells.co.uk. The website seemed legitimate, it had good online reviews and MoneySavingExpert.com even suggested it as a place to buy cheap beauty products. Before purchasing, I performed my routine check: did the shade name match online swatches? Yes. Once the product arrived, I checked the packaging more closely. Was the clasp the same as my legit MAC eyeshadows? Did the label seem real? Was the 'MAC' printed on the CLEAR plastic lid the same size as my other eyeshadows? Check. Check. Check. No need to go any further, right?
Left: Real MAC Eyeshadow, Right: fake
Wrong. After a heads up from Eloise that CheapSmells had stopped selling MAC after claims they were fake articles, I decided to check my eyeshadow. It took me a while to spot it, but low and behold the text of the label on my possibly fake MAC eyeshadow is slight whiter than the grey of my real eyeshadows. You wouldn't know if you weren't looking for it. But now I've seen it, oh is it obvious. its important to add that I'm not 100% sure it is fake, and any help you guys can give me would be great.
Left: Real MAC Eyeshadow, Right: fake
I feel betrayed, angry and also terrified. What If I haven't been putting MAC on my eyes for the past 6 months... and if not, what have I been putting on them?! Scary articles like this and this have found high levels of arsenic in fake products. I shudder to think.

So, what can I do? Well the eyeshadow will be retiring to the back of my collection until I know for sure if its fake and I am going to try to get as much attention as possible for this article. We need to do all we can to stop people buying fake and potentially DANGEROUS cosmetics.

Amy x

P.S. CheapSmells are no longer selling MAC products. As far as I can glean from the internet, no other brands on CheapSmells are fakes, but there is no telling anymore. The fakes are getting so. Darn. Good.

Currently Coveting: Rob Ryan

Rob Ryan is British visual artist, paper cutter, illustrator and screen printer. He is famous for his commissions for Vogue, Elle, Waitrose and Urban Outfitters. His delicate paper cuttings are printed onto a range of beautiful home wares and into incredibly detailed books. I'm lusting after all of his intricate designs!

1. Bunting: £21.50
Who doesn't love bunting, and especially in gorgeous pastel colours, with a pretty design? Its just a shame its so expensive- but still can't stop me lusting after it!

2. This Is For You- Book: £10.49

A beautiful, handcrafted book. Each page is a unique paper cut illustration with a little motivational story about thoughts and dreams, loneliness and longing, the personal and the universal. Too cute.

3. Pair of Mugs: £15.07
These gorgeous mugs don't make sense unless they are next to each other. I think that idea is completely perfect! When I first saw these in Urban Outfitters, I picked up one mug and couldn't make sense of it, until Poppy, my friend, picked up the second one and we realised they go together.

4. Ceramic Money Box: £19.95
The colours and illustration on this money box actually makes me WANT to save! A money box that can do that, has got to be worth almost 20 pounds.. right?

5. Pillow: £20.38
This duck egg blue pillow is covered in bells and birds and my are they sweet. Rob Ryan is the king of beautiful print ideas.

6. Shopper Bag: £14.20
I just love the words on this bag: 'You can still do a lot with a small brain.' So sweet and the little birds with the thread remind me of Cinderella.

Are you a Rob Ryan fan?

What I bought at The Vintage Fair

I told you in my 'Vintage Fair' post that I had made a sneaky vintage purchase, and that all would be revealed in another post. Well, this is that post. Did you guess by the mysterious title? Elusive! I paid just £14 for this gorgeous, cream, lace and pearl embroidered bustier. The label on the inside states the item is from a store called 'Fashion Fantasy' which extensive googling returned few results on, sadly. Regardless, I loved this item as soon as I clapped eyes on it. Its exquisitely made, all the detail hand stitched on. I can't wait to wear it.

Vintage Bralet from Vintage Fair, Nail Polish: Ciate's Glass Slippers
The one issue I have with this bralet is how to style it. I'm not completely confident yet as I'e never styled a piece like this before and I know its so bold, I could get it very very wrong. Of course, I consulted Lookbook for inspiration. Below are some ideas of how I may wear it in the future, with a link to the lovely creators Lookbook, obviously!

Look One: With a long black, pleated skirt? Teamed with a belt to hold the skirt over the exposed part of my midrift?

Look Two: With a white or black shirt (perhaps sheer for nights out) tied at the bottom, just revealing the bralet, yet keeping my shoulders covered.

Look Three: Oh my how I would LOVE to pair my little bralet with a tulle skirt and feel like a Fairy Princess Ballerina (yes, all three at once). I would pirouette and wear pretty nude heels and spin around on my tip toes.

When you get an opportunity to be a part of a hilarious youtube project involving 14 other awesome youtubers, tubing everything from beauty to vlogging, video games to comedy sketches, you don't turn that down.

Jon Lovell (LoveJonLovell on youtube) was the brains behind the project and after many emails, dropbox sharing and filming, the video, our little baby, came together.

What is it you ask? Well, its a Gangnam Style parody video, of course! Its called 'Youtube Style' and its hilarious, well constructed and features some awesome people.

Watch it, like it and give it a share. I promise you won't regret it.

Click here to tweet about the video (a nice pre-constructed tweet for you!) and I'll be sure to retweet everyone that does!

Brighton Vintage Fair

On Sunday 4th November I, my boyfriend Jimbo and my friend Rosie went to the UK's biggest Vintage Fair in Brighton. Our mission was to blog the event and try *it was hard* to not spend too much money on all the gorgeous vintage pieces. The Vintage Fair is an event featuring over 50 of the UKs best vintage sellers selling jewellery, clothes, shoes and accessories. There were also handmade, vintage inspired jewellery stands, a place to get your new vintage clothes altered (right there at the fair) to fit you and a tea and cake stand.

The atmosphere was amazing and the sellers very reasonable with pricing and you were able to try everything on. Due to this, all three of us were convinced to part with a bit of our cash... Woopsie!

Above is Rosie trying on the vintage velvet Laura Ashley dress she snapped for a fiver! Doesn't she look so lovely and elegant in it? It is the ultimate black dress in my opinion and can you believe she only paid £35 for it?! Incredible.

Above are Rosie and I (Jimbo resisted Rosie's attempts to photograph him) enjoy our tea and cake off of vintage crockery. Is it a bit weird and middle aged to say I got crockery envy? I was lusting after the little tea cup I was sipping from.

The stamps on our hands gave us entry (£2) and the ability to go and come from the fair (held inside Brighton's Corn Exchange) as we pleased. Funnily enough, we only left once to withdraw cash as some of the sellers didn't have card readers.

 What I Wore
Boots: Unknown
Jacket: Primark
Bag: Accessorize
Earrings: Accessorize

I will be posting later about what I purchased (get excited) but for now: thank you Jimbo for taking my outfit photographs, Brighton for hosting The Vintage Fair and the lovely people behind The Vintage Fair for a great event- I will be back next year!
